You have gone all out and fulfilled your dream of buying an apartment home. And now it’s time to personalize it and make it all your own! The use of colors is one of the best ways to make your home truly yours. Colors can liven up a room or make it soothing, make it appear large and airy or cozy and smaller.
Here is a little guide to help you figure out which colors are best used in each room of your apartment:
Living Room
This is the room where you socialize, entertain your guests as well as where the family spends a majority of time. The living room should ideally be neutral in color. Go for French vanilla or soft shades of beige, blue or aqua mint. To add an area of interest, you could even create an accent wall with deeper shades.
Dining Room
The room where you eat should have vibrant colors to stimulate appetite as well as liven up conversation. You can play with shades of yellow and red and colors in-between them to brighten up your dining room.
Kitchen
Warm and bright tones are suitable for the kitchen as they stimulate the appetite too. Consider going with bright shades of green, yellow or even white. To get your kitchen singing with energy, you could even go with reds and oranges!
Master Bedroom
After a long day of work, all you need are soothing colors to put you in a relaxed frame of mind. Some of the calming colors for bedrooms include soft shades of blue, green and lavender. Cream is a soothing color too.
Kids’ Room
To get active kids to settle down for their much-needed naps, you need to paint their room in soft hues too. Aside from the traditional baby blue and light pinks, you could also consider softer versions of lavender and yellow too.
Bathroom
Traditionally, bathrooms look best in dual shades of whites with cool greens and blues. This creates the much-needed relaxing ambience here.
Do note that there is no hard-and-fast rule to stick to any specific color palette. Personalize your home and color it according to your choice!
